LA Lacrosse is a program that teaches boys and girls the sport of lacrosse. Its goal is to bring this sport to children who otherwise would not be able to participate due to expense. We know that through organized sports children build self-esteem, learn to be good teammates, build healthy habits, learn how to push themselves, get lots of exercise, have fun and much more!
Many inner-city lacrosse organizations around the country are doing amazing work with youngsters using lacrosse as a vehicle to create lasting change. Virtually all the Impact studies that have been conducted show identical data:
These lacrosse participants exhibit greater classroom participation and better grades than their peers. They graduate high school at a higher rate than their peers. Over 90% of them attend college and many are the first in their families to do so.
They lead healthier and more productive lives as a result of their participation in youth lacrosse.
Our coaches are adults who have all played and/or coached the sport of lacrosse. They enjoy teaching the game and are enthused to be around kids.
THE PROGRAM IS 100% FREE TO THE PARTICIPANTS
Our first class in September of 2024 will be one team of 5th grade boys and one team of 5th grade girls. Each September we will welcome a new class of 5th grade boys and girls. Our existing participants will continue to rise with the program.
HOW DO I GET THE PROPER EQUIPMENT AND GEAR TO PARTICIPATE?
All gear and equipment will be provided to the participants at no cost.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE PROGRAM?
In order to continue participating students need to attend practices consistently, exhibit good sportsmanship, be responsible with their schoolwork and be respectful of themselves, their peers and the coaches. Parents will be asked to sign a waiver and provide proper medical/health information for their child to participate.
